Josh Emmanuel was pleased to help Hull City ‘get the job done’ and an encouraging start to the new season continued with a 1-0 victory over Crewe Alexandra on Saturday afternoon.
A late Mallik Wilks goal earned the Tigers all three points to make it back-to-back wins from their opening two Sky Bet League One fixtures, and added to recent Carabao Cup successes against Sunderland and Leeds United.
“We’re buzzing with the win,” said Emmanuel.
"Crewe are a good team but we got the job done.
“I always felt that we would come through it. I thought we dominated the majority of the game. Going into the second half we felt that we could just up things a notch and we did that.
“We’re a confident side and that comes from having good players with a good gaffer behind us. We knew we needed to up things in the second half. It’s not going to be perfect all of the time but we got the job done and we’re thankful for that.
“It’s been a good start to the league season with two wins and two clean sheets and we just want to keep the momentum going, and take it up a notch which we’re more than capable of doing. We just want to kick on and improve week by week and hopefully keep the points coming in."
