Hull City head coach Grant McCann has praised his forwards for their start to the 2020/21 season.
McCann has seen Mallik Wilks, Keane Lewis-Potter and Josh Magennis all get off the mark in their first two league games, and is backing his forwards to continue their early-season form.
“We’ve got front players that can play across all three of the positions and we’ll pick them based on what we think suits the opposition and what will hopefully try and get us the win.
“You look at our options, Mallik has got two goals, Keane has got one and Josh Magennis has got one,” he said. “Obviously James Scott only got his first start on Wednesday and Thomas Mayer was the same so there’s no doubt that they will come to the party too, in-terms of goals and assists. You’ve seen already what Tommy can do with his assist for Mallik.
“Tommy is probably still three or four weeks away in-terms of the intensity that we want to train and play at and that’s just down to the fact that he hasn’t played much football since the back end of last season. We’ll keep working with him and these games coming up can help him and we’ll try to give him as many minutes as possible.
“Hopefully those boys can keep pushing each other up there and we know that if it’s not going the way we want it to go, that we’ve got players on the bench that can change it.”
