Hull City U18 midfielder Oliver Green thought the team showed great character to come from 2-0 down to secure a point against Swansea City.
Goals from Billy Leach and Glen Sani cancelled out Iwan Morgan’s brace as the the Tigers secured a point in the Professional Development League.
“I think we’ve got mixed emotions on the game,” said Green.
“To come from behind and draw is obviously a good result, but on the other side, both the goals conceded were set-pieces and that’s disappointing on our part.
“The character was fantastic. To captain the team is brilliant and to lead them from 2-0 down is even better. We had a lot of Under-16s playing today and we had a lot of first-years as well and to see that desire and heart to come back and get a draw is class.”
The midfielder reserved special praise for the Under-16s who stepped up to feature for the Under-18s, with four of the starting XI against Swansea City being from the Under-16s set-up.
“The Under-16s have been brilliant since coming in,” added Green.
“Glen (Sani) has scored two goals in four games, Jake Brown made his first start, Aman (Panesar) has been great and James Carr has consistently been good every week keeping his place. I can’t fault the boys as they’re a great bunch and they’ll be brilliant next year."
