Grant McCann says he will make a late decision on what involvement, if any, Josh Magennis and Gavin Whyte will have in Good Friday’s League One fixture at Crewe Alexandra.
The attacking duo were both starters for Northern Ireland in their World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria in Belfast on Wednesday night, with Magennis playing 82 minutes of the 0-0 draw and Whyte just over an hour, and both are now keen to be involved in the Tigers’ trip to the Alexandra Stadium.
“I spoke to both of them after the game on Wednesday night and they’re both very keen to be involved and to come with us for Friday’s game,” said Head Coach McCann.
“We’ll see how they are when we meet up with them later today. Josh played 80-odd minutes last night and Gavin just over 60 so we’ll see what condition they’re in and how they are feeling later.
“They’re both very keen to be involved and that is the character of both of them. We’ll probably make a decision on Friday morning when we see how they feel.”
Wednesday night’s draw leaves Northern Ireland third in their World Cup qualifying group with one point taken from their opening two games.
