Grant McCann confirmed to the press earlier today that Alfie Jones and namesake Callum are close to a return to first team action.
Defender Alfie Jones picked up a knock in the 1-0 win over Swindon Town nearly two weeks ago, but has been back on the grass this week alongside Callum Jones, who has been absent since the end of November with a hamstring injury.
The Tigers’ Head Coach was also pleased to report no further injuries following the mid-week draw with Lincoln City at the KCOM Stadium.
“It was a good game against Lincoln,” said McCann. “We haven’t picked up any injuries from that game.
“Alfie Jones is close to returning. He’s building up his fitness levels, same with Callum Jones.”
Elsewhere, McCann was able to provide updates on winger Gavin Whyte and striker Tom Eaves, stating that the duo are “a couple of weeks away” following the injuries they sustained in January.
Richie Smallwood has got a follow-up appointment after seeing his season cut short by an unfortunate knee injury picked up in the defeat at Burton Albion.
