Hull City U18 Harry Wallis admits the point gained against Barnsley was a tough but enjoyable encounter as the Tigers played out a 1-1 draw.
Will Jarvis’ first half goal was cancelled out by Ben Hall’s strike as the Tigers earned their first point in 2021.
“It was a hard fought point,” said Wallis.
“It was a good battle, but I don’t think we should have let them back into the game when we went 1-0 ahead, as for the rest of the first half, I thought we dominated.
“I thought our pressing was good and we got it right, but we need to pick up more of the second balls as in the first ten minutes of the second half, Barnsley were winning more of the second ball and then they got their equaliser.
“We couldn’t break them down after that and we didn’t create enough chances in the second half and when we did, I don’t think we did much with it when we got into their final third.
“However, when they did get their equaliser, I thought we held our own and we didn’t succumb to any pressure and for this week in training, we need to work more on the second balls and continue to get the press right again for next week.”
