'The 222 Collection' Raises More Than £3,000 In Support Of Chris Chilton

19 January 2021

The Club would like to thank everybody that has recently purchased merchandise from ‘The 222 Collection’ to support Hull City legend Chris Chilton.

‘The 222 Collection’ was launched in October to help raise funds for the Chris Chilton Appeal, with profits from merchandise sold to be donated to the Chilton family to support Chris’s care needs at this time. We’re delighted to announce that £3,053.32 has been raised through the sale of t-shirts, polo shirts and limited edition prints which were available to buy through Tiger Leisure, and that money will now be passed on to the appeal.

Chilton’s efforts in black and amber saw him become the Tigers’ record goal-scorer and he was one of the most feared forwards in the game during the 1960s. After making his debut in 1960, he went on to score 222 times in 477 appearances and was a hero to those that watched him from the Boothferry Park terraces.

The Chris Chilton Appeal, which was set up by the daughter of Chilton’s strike-partner Ken Wagstaff, has so far raised more than £37,500 and is still open to donations which can be made by clicking here.
