Jordan Flores has expressed his delight at joining the Tigers and being a part of a group pushing for promotion.
The midfielder recently joined the Club following a successful spell with Dundalk in Ireland, and is now hoping to rebuild some match fitness as he looks to earn a place in Grant McCann’s starting XI in the coming weeks.
“I’ve really enjoyed it so far,” said Flores. “We got a good point against Blackpool and a good three points against Accrington and that’s a good start for me to come into that group. All the lads are in a good mood and it’s been enjoyable.
“I came in training before I signed and then there was a little issue with COVID around the group which cut it short a little bit but I came back in afterwards and the lads have been really welcoming.
“I feel good. There’s still a good way to go in terms of my fitness but I’m definitely going in the right direction."
The 2020 Puskas Award nominee came off the bench to make his Tigers’ debut in the 3-0 win over Accrington Stanley and was impressed with his new side's performance at the KCOM Stadium.
“The Accrington win was a good performance against a good, hardworking team,” he said. “I think we matched and did better than them and the result was deserved in the end. We did a lot of good things that we’d been discussing in the changing rooms and the lads delivered.
“When I came on I just tried to get on the ball as much as I could and keep things ticking over. It was an enjoyable experience to get out there.
“I just need to keep doing what I can to keep my fitness up and get better every day - whether that be in the gym, doing running sessions or playing in the Under-23s games. The minutes I got for the Under-23s were very valuable and I’m sure that will benefit me in the coming weeks.
“It’s exciting to be a part of this group. Everyone wants to be successful and to come into a team doing so well, I just want to contribute as much as I can.”
