Grant McCann is hoping that Hull City can learn from the frustrating defeat suffered at Bloomfield Road in December when the two sides meet again this afternoon.
A last minute goal sealed the three points for the Seasiders on that day, but McCann and his side feel that they know where they went wrong and are ready to make amends when Blackpool visit the KCOM Stadium later today.
“They’re a good team,” said McCann. “We were obviously disappointed to concede at their place in the last minute. They had a good result against West Brom in the FA Cup and they’re having a good season under Neil (Critchley).
“We felt we played well there and didn’t deserve to lose the game, but we did. We know the shortfalls and where we went wrong in that game and hopefully it doesn’t happen again and we can have a better performance and result at the KCOM.
“We go Saturday-Tuesday, Saturday-Tuesday now, finishing with Swindon. It’s a tough run this month, tough fixtures. We saw how good Blackpool are at Bloomfield Road a few weeks back and we want to try and turn the tables and get a positive result this time. Then we’ve got Accrington, Portsmouth, Accrington again and Swindon.
“For many different reasons, it’s a tough run of games this month. We want to take as many points as we can. The reaction, on the back of three defeats, has been excellent. Charlton, Sunderland, where we probably should have won the game given the chances we had, and Fleetwood. They’re three very good teams in this division and our reaction has been really good.
“Earlier in the season, there was a lot of talk that we can’t beat the teams in and around the top six. I think we’ve proved over the last three games we can challenge with most teams in this league when we’re at it.”
