With nearly all aspects of our daily lives impacted by the tight restrictions that we are currently living under, we are all facing difficult times right now. However, none of us have to do this alone.
Through the EFL’s partnership with Mind, and the Tigers Trust’s ‘Tigers Team Mates’ programme, we’re here to support you at a time when those more familiar methods of socialising with friends and family, which are so important for our general wellbeing, are not open to us.
Hull & East Yorkshire Mind have some excellent tips, help and advice to help those that are maybe struggling during the current national lockdown, as well as signposts to further support, all of which can be found at www.heymind.org.uk
Meanwhile, the Tigers Trust’s ‘Tigers Team Mates’ programme can offer practical help at this difficult time. Launched last summer, ‘Tigers Team Mates’ has been supporting members of the community by tackling loneliness with planned activities, and supporting local people who are at risk of isolation through the Covid-19 pandemic. With 2021 starting with another national lockdown, the Trust are keen to let people know that they are still here to support those that need them.
‘Tigers Team Mates’ remains available to support local people, primarily over the age of 55, who are perhaps feeling lonely or isolated at this time. They can help with collecting shopping or other essentials such as medical prescriptions, by providing support phone calls or by setting up virtual quizzes and other online activities.
If you would like any further information, or would like to suggest somebody that would benefit from the work of ‘Tigers Team Mates’, please email one of the project officers: firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
