Hull City are delighted to announce that Hull-born Academy midfielder Ahmed Salam has signed a new deal with the Club.
The 20-year-old, who scored a hat-trick in the Under-23s’ 4-1 win against Ipswich Town on Monday evening, has agreed a one-year deal that includes a club option of a further year.
Salam initially joined the Academy’s Under-12s age group, and has progressed through to be a part of the first team squad on a number of occasions this season.
He made appearances from the bench in Papa John’s Trophy victories over Harrogate Town and Fleetwood Town, and was also an unused substitute for the League One fixture with Blackpool in January.
“We’re really pleased to see him sign a new deal,” said Head Coach Grant McCann.
“He’s improving and impressing all the time and trains with us every day.
“He’s got an excellent attitude and we like the fact he can play in a number of positions, but he mainly plays off the right-hand side of a front three.
“He wants to get on the ball, wants to take people on.
“It’s nice to see how another player who has come through the system is starting to reap the benefits of training with the first team.”
We would like to congratulate Ahmed on his new deal and look forward to watching his development continue.
