Hull City U18 McCauley Snelgrove expressed how important it was to get back to winning ways after a 6-5 win over Sheffield United.
The Tigers edged the 11-goal thriller to secure all three points in the Professional Development League.
“It’s good to get three points and get the win,” said Snelgrove.
“I think we’ve needed a win recently and the lads have played well in the last few weeks and haven’t got the results we’ve deserved.
“The attacking service we got from the midfield today and the crosses from the fullbacks into the box were great and it created plenty of opportunities for us up front and it showed in the result with the six goals.
“On the negative side though, we’ve conceded five goals and we’ve only just managed to win the game when we should have really won it comfortably with the chances we created, but it’s the result in the end that matters.”
The winger contributed to the victory with a hat-trick as Grant McCann and Cliff Byrne watched in attendance at Bishop Burton College.
“It was good for the first-team staff to come down and watch,” added Snelgrove.
“They watched training the other day and a few players have since done really well and they’ve got their rewards from it. I’m obviously really happy with the hat-trick and hopefully I’ve made an impression, but the main thing was securing the win.”
