Jake Leake has been named as the Hull City Executive Club’s Under-18 Player of the Year for 2020/21.
The Hull City Executive Club are huge supporters of the Club’s Academy and, each year, they present an award to the young player that they feel has stood out over the course of the season.
This year’s recipient is Hull-born left back Leake who has stepped up to become a regular for the Club’s Under-23s and has trained regularly with the first team squad.
Speaking about Leake’s progress over the last 12 months Richard Naylor, Head of Academy Coaching, said: “Jake has progressed really well. He is still an Under-18 but made the transition to the Under-23s at the start of the season and his consistent performances caught the eye of the first team staff.
“He moved up to train with the first team from Christmas time onwards and has coped brilliantly with the step up. He is very capable physically and his attitude and application have been first class.
“Of course, there is still plenty of development to come but if he continues to show the same work ethic then we are sure that further first team opportunities will come his way.”
