Markus Henriksen’s first league goal in a black and amber shirt against Birmingham City has been voted our University of Hull Goal of the Month for September.
The Tigers were already 4-0 up against the Blues when the Norwegian started and finished a flowing team move to add his name to the scoresheet in the 6-1 win.
Some lovely passing football between Henriksen, Seb Larsson and Kamil Grosicki carved open the Birmingham defence, before the 25-year-old midfielder - who had only been on the pitch for seven minutes after replacing Jon Toral - produced a composed finish to fire the ball past Tomasz Kuszczak.
With votes cast via our official Twitter account, Henriksen’s strike emerged as our fans’ favourite after polling 40 per cent, with Jarrod Bowen and Grosicki’s goals in the same coming joint second with 25 per cent. Fraizer Campbell’s first goal since returning to the Club - in the 1-1 draw away at Reading - finished fourth with 10 per cent.
Congratulations Markus and thanks to everyone who voted!
