Pennock & Mountain Settle Into Roles

04 July 2017
The opening day of pre-season saw Leonid Slutsky joined on the training field by two recent recruits to his backroom team.

Tony Pennock (main picture) returned to familiar surroundings as he settles back into life as the Club’s First Team Coach, a role he had previously held under Mike Phelan last year.

Meanwhile, Pat Mountain enjoyed his first session as he put the goalkeepers through their paces. Mountain worked through a series of drills with Eldin Jakupovic, David Marshall, Allan McGregor and Will Mannion on a busy first day.

Mountain (below) joined the Club last month having previously been the Goalkeeping Coach at Wolverhampton Wanderers. Speaking about his backroom team, Slutsky said: “We have an unbelievable team of staff here. I am really very happy working with Tony and with Pat, as well as the great staff that were already here. From the very first meeting we are fitting together well.

“A positive mood amongst the coaching staff can help things on the pitch. The first sessions have been good with a good intensity and I am very happy with the staff.”
