Post-Match Reaction: Leonid Slutsky

19 August 2017
Leonid Slutsky spoke to the media following the Tigers' 2-1 defeat at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Here’s what he had to say….

On the performance/result
“It is hard to give a reaction after this game because we lost it in injury time. We had some chances when the score was 1-1, some clear chances, especially one for Seb Larsson. We had an unbelievable chance to equalise in added time too from a corner and so it was a very disappointing afternoon.

“It is a very hard time for me and for the players. We lost three players from the team that played against Wolves, and then we lost another two players in the first half of this game. We had to change formation and players at half time, and we had combinations that we hadn’t worked on in training.

“QPR made a big substitution and brought on Smith. They changed tactics with a lot of direct balls into the box. It was very difficult because we couldn’t control the ball and that meant we had to defend a lot. We played normal and had big chances. I thought we deserved a draw as a minimum. It is a very bad result.”

On the injuries to Stewart and Campbell
“With Stewart, it is the same injury. I am not sure how long he will be out for, he will need a scan again. Campbell as an adductor injury and he will also need a scan before we have information about his recovery time.”

On Sam Clucas not being included in the squad
“I think a deal is close to being agreed with another club. It is a Premier League club and I think it will be done in the next few days.”
