Post-Match Reaction: Leonid Slutsky

23 September 2017
There was an overall sense of disappointment when Leonid Slutsky spoke to the media following the Tigers' 1-1 draw with Reading.

A late goal from Jon Dadi Bodvarsson denied Slutsky’s side all three points after Fraizer Campbell’s first half goal had given them a lead to hang onto at the Madejski Stadium.

Here’s some of what the Head Coach had to say afterwards:

“It’s very difficult to analyse. We were very close to winning this one and we need a win to give us new air.

“We’re disappointed because we controlled the match and Reading didn’t have many chances. We had some chances, hit the bar, worked hard and were patient but we just need that win to come.

“I don’t feel that we sat back. We conceded the goal after losing the ball in attack. We had players forward and it left spaces for Reading to work and score.

“We scored a very good goal and had chances to score more. Fraizer Campbell is now in good form after missing some weeks with an injury. He was anxious about not scoring before today, but hopefully now he will carry on.

“The overall performance was better, but we need to win. We’ve had chances to beat Fulham, Sunderland and now Reading in the last couple of weeks but this is all a part of the process of building a new side.

“Kamil Grosicki missed the game with a small injury that he got in training on Friday.”
