After taking up the whistle at 15, Bond progressed to the Select Group 2 referees list armed with more than 20 years of refereeing experience, which included a year as an assistant referee in the Premier League.
Bond had 40 appointments in all competitions last term, issuing 136 yellow cards and eight yellow cards. His tally included two fixtures involving the Tigers, although he proved to somewhat of an unlucky charm as he officiated the heavy away defeats at Derby County and Sheffield United.
In total, the Lancashire-born official has taken charge of four games involving the Tigers, which have resulted in two wins and two draws.
Saturday’s clash will represent his fourth appearance as a referee this season. Bond took charge of Nottingham Forest’s 1-1 draw at Bristol City on the opening weekend of the game and was also the man in the middle when Derby County beat Oldham Athletic 2-0 at Boundary Park in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
His last Championship outing saw him officiate as Sheffield United beat Norwich City 2-1 at Bramall Lane last weekend.
Bond will be assisted by Mark Jones and Lee Venamore on Saturday, with Lee Swabey on fourth official duties.
