After taking up the whistle aged 20, Webb became an EFL Referee in 2008 following various spells in the Northern League and the National League.
He has taken charge of more 300 matches in professional football and joined the Select Group 2 list last season which enabled him to concentrate full time on refereeing.
Webb represented PGMOL at the Dallas Cup in 2009 and as part of the exchange programme to Australia in 2018, and also refereed the League Two Play-Off Final between Coventry City and Exeter City in 2018.
Last season, he was in charge of three games involving the Tigers. Webb officiated the home and away games against Wigan – both of which ended 2-1 to the home team – and the 1-0 away win at Bolton Wanderers in October. He officiated two Preston fixtures – both of which were on the road at Birmingham City and Derby County.
Overall in 2018/19, he took charge of 34 games, issuing 102 cautions and five red cards, whilst so far this season he has been the referee for games at Wigan, West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday, showing the yellow card 12 times.
