Ref Watch: West Bromwich Albion (a)

04 July 2020
Oliver Langford will be the man with the whistle for Sunday’s trip to The Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion.

Langford is a very experienced match official, with eight seasons as an EFL referee under his belt. As part of the PGMO development programme, he has officiated in the Dallas Cup and Algarve Cup and has now refereed more than 200 EFL matches.

In 2016/17, he was selected as one of the 18 referees who made up Select Group 2 and, since the introduction of the group, Langford has refereed two Play-Off Semi-Finals and the 2017 FA Youth Cup Final between Chelsea and Manchester City.

Langford has taken charge of 29 games so far this term, brandishing 115 yellow cards and four red cards. One of those fixtures saw him make his Premier League debut when officiating the 1-1 draw between Chelsea and Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.

Assisting Langford at The City Ground will be Jonathan Hunt and Philip Dermott, with John Brooks on fourth official duties.
