Six Tigers Receive International Call-Ups

Six Hull City players have been called up to represent their countries during the October international break.

In-form winger Kamil Grosicki will be hoping to earn his 71st and 72nd caps at international level when Poland face Latvia and North Macedonia respectively in UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying. Poland, currently top of Group C with 13 points from a possible 18, will visit Riga on Thursday 10th October before hosting North Macedonia on Sunday 13th October.

Josh Magennis has been included in the Northern Ireland squad for their forthcoming Euro 2020 qualifier against Netherlands and challenge match against Czech Republic. Michael O’Neill’s side will travel to Rotterdam on Thursday 10th October before heading to Prague four days later.

Markus Henriksen will also link up with Norway for their latest round of UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers at home to Spain on Saturday 12th October and away to Romania on Tuesday 15th.

Outside of Europe, Jackson Irvine has been selected in Australia’s 23-man squad for their second round 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The Socceroos will take on Nepal in Canberra on Thursday 10th October before facing Chinese Taipei in Kaohsiung five days later.

Fellow midfielder Elliot Bonds has been included in Guyana’s squad for their CONCACAF Nations League double-header against Antigua & Barbuda. The away fixture will take place on Friday 11th October, with the Golden Jaguars having home advantage on Tuesday 15th.

U18s goalkeeper Harvey Cartwright has also received a first international call-up after being named in the England U18s squad for the Young Lions’ mini-tour of central Europe. Cartwright is part of Ian Foster’s 21-man group, and will join up with the rest of the squad for three games in the space of six days against Poland, Slovakia and Austria.
