Larsson joined the Tigers on Wednesday and Slutsky is looking forward to working with the Swedish international midfielder.
“I am very happy that he has signed for us,” said Slutsky.
“It is very important to me that we sign players of a high level and Seb is one of those. He is a very good player and one that I am sure our supporters will know of.
“He is a versatile player who can play as a winger, as a number 10 and as an offensive midfielder – there are many positions possible for him.
“Seb has a lot of qualities – he is a very clever player, he is experienced and good at set-pieces. I really feel we have a good mix of experienced players and young players.
“After the game at Aston Villa, a lot of people were talking to me about us having a lot of young players in the team but this doesn’t matter to me because I have a different evaluation of the situation – there are good players and not good players, the age doesn’t matter.
“A player being good is more important than what his age might be.”
Larsson could feature in a black and amber shirt for the first time at the weekend when the Tigers host Burton Albion at the KCOM Stadium, although a starting place is unlikely with the former Sunderland man having not had a full pre-season.
“Of course, Seb didn’t do pre-season with us and will only have two or three sessions with us before the weekend,” added Slutsky.
“However, he is very professional and I hope he can play on Saturday – maybe not 90 minutes but for some minutes I hope he will be ready.”
