An impressive return of 27 points from the last 36 available sees the Tigers head into the Yorkshire Derby clash high on confidence but, despite their excellent recent form, Stewart reiterated that the nature of the group means that nobody is getting carried away.
“Everyone here is very ground – we’re not getting carried away whatsoever,” he said. “It can be dangerous to look too far ahead.
“Our focus is on the here and now – taking it one game at a time. That has been key during our recent impressive run over what has been a busy period of games and we’ll continue to prepare that way for every match going forward.
“It’s Sheffield Wednesday up next on Saturday and that is our only focus. They are a good team – one of many in this league – and will come here wanting to get the win in order to continue their own good recent form.
“It will be a good test for us though. It’s one we’re looking forward to and one that we want to come out on top in.
“There’s a lot of confidence in the team right now and that’s the big difference from earlier on in the season.
“Confidence – and momentum – is massively important football and having strung together a positive run of results throughout December, we want to continue that and kick on.”
