Team News Ahead Of The Weekend

18 October 2018
Nigel Adkins says Fraizer Campbell is in contention to face Preston North End on Saturday, although the Head Coach has reported some fresh injury concerns ahead of the weekend.

Campbell limped out of the Tigers’ defeat at Sheffield United before the international break with a groin problem but the striker has trained this week, as has centre back Jordy de Wijs who has been out of action since the draw with Middlesbrough at the end of last month.

However, Jon Toral has been ruled out for up to six weeks with a calf injury while Evandro has also picked up a calf problem which looks set to delay his return to action.

Eric Lichaj and Stephen Kingsley have missed training this week and are labelled as doubts for the weekend by Adkins, with Angus MacDonald and James Weir remaining unavailable through injury.

On a positive note Markus Henriksen, Jackson Irvine and Kamil Grosicki all trained on Thursday after returning from international duty.

Preston will be without suspended midfielder Ben Pearson for the trip to the KCOM Stadium while Josh Harrop will also be absent having recently had surgery.

Striker Sean Maguire is fit again after injury and is pushing for his first start this season, with Ryan Ledson also expected to be involved after missing the win against Wigan Athletic a fortnight ago with ankle trouble.
