Hull-born Lewie Coyle joined his hometown club from Fleetwood Town for an undisclosed fee in August 2020, penning a three-year deal – with a Club option of a further 12 months – at the KCOM Stadium.

The right-back came through the youth tanks at Leeds United having first joined the Elland Road outdoor at the age of ten, and made his professional debut - aged 20 - when coming on as a substitute in a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest in December 2015.

A first competitive start came his way the following month when he was included from the off in Leeds' 2-0 FA Cup Third Round victory over Rotherham United, finishing the 2015/16 season with 13 appearances to his name in all competitions, eleven of which came in the Championship.

A further ten appearances followed in 2016/17 before heading out on loan to Fleetwood Town in July 2017, where he made 48 appearances throughout the season to claim to the Players' Player of the Year and Junior Cod Army Player of the Year awards.

Two further loan spells at Highbury Stadium followed in 2018/19 and 2019/20 before the switch was made permanent in January 2020. Coyle featured 42 times last season, scoring the first senior goal of his career in a 2-2 home draw with Shrewsbury Town, to take his overall tally for the Lancashire outfit to 135 in all competitions.
