James Scott was brought to the Club from Motherwell for an undisclosed fee in January 2020.

Tall, fast, strong and good in the air, as well as with the ball at his feet, the Scottish U21 international boasts the attributes which make him a rounded front-man with huge potential.

Glasgow-born Scott followed in his grandfather's footsteps when joining Motherwell after initially being on the books at Celtic as a youngster and made his first senior appearance for the Fir Park outfit at the age of just 15, becoming the first player born in the 2000s to feature for Motherwell's first-team in the process.

Having established himself as a regular scorer at reserve team level, Scott signed a three-and-a-half year contract extension at Fir Park before being handed his first senior start against Celtic the same month. A first senior goal followed in April 2019 when scoring his side's second goal in a 4-3 home win over Dundee, finishing the campaign with 12 first-team appearances.

The 19-year-old - who can play on the wing and through the middle as part of a front three - scored six goals in 28 appearances in a Motherwell shirt ahead of his move to the Tigers.

And although injury delayed his debut in black and amber, the coronavirus pandemic meant that Scott was able to feature in 2019/20, scoring once in seven appearances with his solitary strike coming in a 3-3 draw away at Birmingham City.
