League One | 30th October 2004
Nick Barmby holds the record for the fastest-ever goal scored by a Hull City player at the KCOM when he opened the scoring after just seven seconds in the Tigers’ 3-1 victory over Walsall.
Barmby got the home crowd roaring when he volleyed home to end the Tigers’ first attack of the game on a perfect note. Damien Delaney long ball forward picked out Stuart Green in space on the right, who produced an excellent first touch to bring the ball under control.
The midfielder then chipped a clever a ball into the area to pick out the intelligent run of Barmby and the former England man made no mistake with a fine finish from close range to beat Joe Murphy with ease.
0.17 Stuart Green v MK Dons
League One | 20th October 2004
Stuart Green’s goal after just 17 seconds ensured the Tigers made the perfect start in their 3-2 victory over MK Dons in October 2004.
The attacking central midfielder opened the scoring from close-range after good work on the left by Delroy Facey. The striker skipped past the challenge of Steve Palmer to go through on goal and although his effort was saved by David Martin, the Dons’ keeper could only parry the ball into the air and Green was the quickest to react, keeping a cool head under pressure to find the back of the net from six-yards.
0.47 Michael Turner v Watford
Championship | 29th March 2008
Michael Turner’s goal with just 47 seconds gone on the clock set the Tigers on their way to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Watford in the Club’s historic 2007/08 promotion-winning campaign.
With a ferocious sold-out home crowd making for an intimidating atmosphere, the central defender sent a packed KCOM Stadium wild with what was his third goal in six games almost immediately after kick-off.
After a foul on Richard Garcia had given the Tigers an early free-kick, Dean Marney set-piece delivery was straight onto the head of the unmarked Turner, who guided the ball home past a helpless Richard Lee in the Watford goal.
0.48 George Boyd vs Birmingham City
Championship | 2nd March 2013
It was a home debut to remember for George Boyd as he needed just 48 seconds to mark his first taste of action at the KCOM with a goal in a 5-2 thrashing of Birmingham City.
Robbie Brady’s defence splitting pass into Boyd’s path left the Peterborough United loanee with just Jack Butland to beat and Boyd did the rest in style, rounding the Blues keeper before slotting the ball into the net.
1.15 Jarrod Bowen vs Rotherham United
Championship | 12th February 2019
Jarrod Bowen was quick off the mark against Rotherham United to net his 16th goal of the 2018/19 campaign in the Tigers’ 2-2 draw with their Yorkshire rivals.
Kick-off at the KCOM on this particular night was preceded by a minute’s applause in memory of England’s World Cup-winning goalkeeper Gordon Banks. Once the game got underway, the Tigers needed just 75 seconds to get their noses in front.
Bowen was sent racing through on goal by Evandro’s clever first-time pass and he gladly accepted the chance to hit the target for a fifth game in succession in HU3 with a smart finish across Marek Rodak and inside the far post.
