Tigers Trio Set For International Duty

Hull City will be without three players as they head off on international duty this week.

Kamil Grosicki, Jackson Irvine and skipper Markus Henriksen have all received call-ups to represent their respective countries in the second international break of the 2018/19 campaign.

Having missed out on selection last month, Grosicki is back in the Poland squad for their UEFA Nations League double header on home soil against Portugal and Italy.

The winger and his international team-mates will face Portugal first on Thursday 11th October before hosting Italy three days later (Sunday 14th October), with both games staged at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów.

Henriksen’s Norway are also in UEFA Nations League action with home games against Slovenia and Bulgaria. Lars Lagerbäck’s host Slovenia at the Ullevaal Stadion on Saturday 13th October before returning the same venue on Tuesday 16th October to face current Group C2 leaders Bulgaria.

Irvine was named in Australia’s initial 25-player squad for this week’s training camp in the United Arab Emirates, as well as a first international friendly match under new Head Coach Graham Arnold against Kuwait on Monday 15th October.

Meanwhile, first-year Academy scholar David Robson has been called up to represent Wales at Under-17 level in a UEFA U17s 2019 European Qualification Tournament.

The young goalkeeper and his fellow Welsh youth internationals will face Belarus (Wednesday 10th October), Kazakhstan (Saturday 13th October) and hosts Portugal (Tuesday 16th October).
