The campaign has seen a total 75,000 pieces of football kit donated by fans of English football clubs to support underprivileged grassroots football teams in Africa.
Hull City have been ever-present in the campaign, which was originally launched as “Kits for Kenya” in 2017. Partner clubs Everton FC, Southampton FC, and non-league side Loughborough Dynamo have also teamed up with SportPesa to collect kit donations. This season alone, fans and players of Hull City have contributed a massive 5,000 kits to the initiative.
The incredible success of the campaign would not have been possible without the contribution of the local community at Hull City.
SportPesa has a continued commitment to building and developing grassroots football. Since the company’s inception in 2014, they have quickly established themselves as a community focused organisation. The Kits For Africa campaign is part of this pledge to transform lives in Africa.
In May 2018, Hull City travelled to Nairobi, Kenya to play against local club Gor Mahia, where Head Coach Nigel Adkins, his staff and first-team squad personally distributed items that had been donated to Kits for Africa by Hull City fans.
