Wilson took 53% of the online vote as he finished ahead of fellow nominees Markus Henriksen, Abel Hernandez and Michael Dawson.
March was a big month for the on-loan Liverpool winger as he registered a match-winning strike against Norwich City, a key goal against Ipswich Town as well as some important assists as the Tigers edged their way away from the relegation zone and Wilson was delighted to pick up his award at the Club’s training ground this week.
“It’s very pleasing to pick up this award,” said Wilson.
“To contribute to some good performances and help the team pick up some important results – and to win the SportPesa Player of the Month award as well – I’m really happy with that.
“I know it’s an award that the fans vote for and they have been great with me ever since I arrived here in January. When you know that the fans are behind you, it gives you more confidence to go out and perform.”
As well as his form at club level, March also brought Wilson a first senior start, and goal, for Wales which coincided with his 21st birthday, making it a month that is likely to stay in the memory for a long time.
“It was a fantastic month,” he continued.
“To get called up by my country and then get my first start on my 21st birthday was great and that was followed by another start against a team of Uruguay’s quality.
“To have a good month here in Hull as well is something that made me very happy.”
