Wins For Poland & Norway As Grosicki & Henriksen Feature

11 June 2019
Kamil Grosicki and Markus Henriksen were both on the winning side with their respective nations as the Hull City pair played their second international games in the space of 72 hours.

It was a comfortable night for Grosicki with Poland as they made it four wins from four in Euro 2020 Qualifying Group G, hammering Israel 4-0 in Warsaw. Grosicki managed to get on the scoresheet, too, scoring his side’s third goal of the game just before the hour mark. The winger was then replaced during the closing stages. Poland now have a five-point lead at the top of their group.

Henriksen, meanwhile, helped Norway to their first victory of this qualifying campaign. Bjorn Johnsen scored twice in the second half to secure a 2-0 win in the Faroe Islands, with Henriksen playing 72 minutes before being replaced by Fulham’s Stefan Johansen. The win leaves Norway fourth in Group F, two points behind second-place Romania and seven points behind leaders Spain.
